Product Static SpecsStatic specs can be added to a product in order to communicate vital information regarding how the product should be created. Static specs may contain information such as paper type, ink colors or other information which may prove necessary to the person who is setting up the job for production.
You can add static specs to any product, adding them either during the creation of the product or after you have finished the product setup. As mentioned above, static specs are used to communicate technical specs about the product to the person handling the order once it has been placed by your customer. Through the use of permissions, you can allow the buyer user to view this information as well.
Here is a list of the specs that you may use:
- Business Card
- Envelope
- Paper
- Continuous
- Unit Set
- Pads
- Fastening
- Numbering
- Ink
- Marginal Words
- Label
- Custom...
Choosing "Custom..." will allow you to create your own static spec. You will be able to give it a “Group” name, “Label,” and enter a “Value” (see Spec Table Preview). The value can be text or you may upload a file. This custom static spec group also allows you the option to make the spec invisible to a buyer. This way you can let your customer see static specs while keeping the custom static specs private.
By selecting a static spec from the drop-down provided, you will be presented with several fields into which you can enter information. Once you have entered all relevant information for your product, click the “Save” button.
Static specs are not required, nor are you limited to just using one. You may use several static spec groups if needed.
