WARNING: Variants that are deleted cannot be retrieved. If you delete a variant and want it back you will have to recreate it. You may want to consider un-assigning the variant rather than deleting it. For information on un-assigning variants, please see Static Product Variant Assignment and Variable Product Variant Assignment articles.
In order to delete a variable product variant from the Administrative interface, follow these steps:
1. Log onto your Administrative interface and navigate to the product that has the variant(s) you wish to delete.
2. Click on the "Variants" link in the left navigation.
3. Select the check-box next to the variant(s) you wish to delete and click on the "Delete Selected" link.
4. Click "OK" on the pop-up dialog box to confirm the deletion of the selected variant(s).
NOTE: Administrative users with the Administer Catalog buyer assignment have the ability to manage all variants for products within the buyer company.
In order to delete a product variant from the Buyer interface, follow these steps:
1. Log onto your Buyer interface and navigate to the product with the variant(s) you wish to delete.
2. Click on "Choose Template" to get to the product properties.
3. Locate the list of variants and click on the trash can next to those you wish to delete.
NOTE: A buyer user can ONLY delete variants when:
1. They themselves created the variants.
2. Variants have been assigned to them by the View Product Variants for all Buyer-Users permission.
3. Variants have been assigned to them by the View Product Variants for all Group-Users permission.
4. Variants have been manually assigned to them by an administrative user.
