Kits on the Buyer Interface

Kits on the Buyer Interface

Kit products can be located the same as Static and Variable Text products, by searching or navigating through the catalog.

When viewing a kit product, the buyer user will see a list of the items that are included in the Kit. That list can be placed anywhere on the Product Detail page by moving the [[KitItemList]] token.

If the kit contains items that require configuration, such as variable text products or static products with Add to Order variable specs, a “Continue” button will appear which indicates that the user will navigate through a wizard to configure the kit.  If the kit contains all static products the button will read “Add to Order.”
**Note for 2.0 sites** At this time, a buyer may only select from an existing variant when configuring a variable product in a kit.  The ability to create a variant on the fly is on the roadmap.

As the buyer navigates through the Kit configuration wizard, he will see the Kit Product ID at the top of the page along with the name of the current product. If there is a need to go back, the user may click on the Kit Product ID and then will start over the configuration process, although the application will remember previously selected options.

Once all configurations have been completed, the button will read “Add to Order” and that is the indication that the user will be taken to the cart.

On the View Cart page, the Buyer user will see one line item for the Kit product, regardless of how many items are included within the kit. Additional Kits or other Products may be added to the cart before completing the checkout process.

Viewing a Kit Product after submitting the Order
After submitting the order, the Buyer user can view the products included in the Kit product by clicking on the Product ID on the order view page.

The list in the Kit Items section will include links to each product and will also identify which Variant was selected for variable products.
