Managing Orders with Kit Products

Order View Page
The Order View page allows management to happen at the Kit Product level or for each item individually. After opening an order with a Kit Product on it, the Admin user will see one row for the Kit.

A plus sign appears to the left of the Kit ID and if that is clicked on, the kit items will display below the Kit. Kit items are indented and the rows are highlighted yellow. At this point, an Admin user may modify the unit price and quantity for the Kit (which will automatically update each kit item accordingly) or the Admin user may modify the unit price and quantity for a kit item which will adjust the order total but will not affect any other component of the Kit product.

When managing shipments, the Buyer user will only receive a shipment notification when the Kit Product line item is marked as shipped.

Line Item Report

A new condition was added to the Line Item Report to “Include Kit Items” in the results.If this check box is checked, two additional Display Columns appear: Parent Kit ID and Parent Kit Name.

XML
Kit items appear in the XML as if they are a standard line item. The parent Kit Product has a productType = Kit and each Kit Item has a value in the parentKitLineItemID extrinsic field that links the item back to the Kit Parent.
