This article outlines the necessary steps to migrate your solution from the old Sitecore version to the new one. Note that the Create Additional Environment for Migration service request for deploying a new environment has been deprecated. Therefore, follow the procedure below instead.
In order to upgrade your Sitecore environment in Sitecore Managed Cloud Standard setup you need to follow the steps:
- Contact your account manager to request the creation of new slots that will host the upgraded Sitecore environment.
- The account manager will create an internal service request Create Ad-hoc Activation for Managed Cloud. This request triggers the Cloud Operations team to create the new slots required for the upgrade.
- Once the new slots are available, submit a service request to Create New Environment and select the newly created slots. This step provisions the new Sitecore environment with the target version.
- Migrate your Sitecore solution from the old environment to the newly created one.
- After successful migration and validation, submit a service request to Delete Existing Environment to remove the old Sitecore environment.
- Finally, contact your account manager again to request the deletion of the old slots that were associated with the previous Sitecore version.
