Notes:

  1. Review Upgrading a Solr cluster on how to upgrade an existing Solr cluster that was installed using the service installation scripts.
  2. Rebuilding the Sitecore index after the upgrade is not required but is recommended. Note that it may have some impact on the environment's performance during this process.
  3. SearchStax support will provide details about the maintenance window and any potential downtime, which will need to be confirmed by them.
  4. Major-version upgrades require schema modifications. This forces you to reload your data.
  5. If the new version causes errors in the environment, it is possible to roll back to the previous version.
  6. Estimated resolution time (SLA): 2 business days.

Limitations, out of scope, and so on:

  1. Inquiries regarding implementation advice (such as sizing information, installation assistance, upgrade planning).
  2. If you plan to upgrade to a version that is not compatible according to the Solr compatibility table, this will be considered a customization. In such cases, Sitecore Support will provide support on a best-effort, case-by-case basis, as it falls outside the scope of our standard support.
  3. For more information on our support scope, refer to Sitecore Support program overview.
