Azure Telemetry Dashboard

Overview

This article outlines the service offering by Sitecore to create an Azure telemetry dashboard to provide metric overview of the key Azure services. A customer can raise the "Azure Telemetry Dashboard" service request via the Customer Support Portal. The following metrics are currently tracked with this dashboard for the past 7 days:

  1. Availability Test Results (AI Ping Tests)
  2. 5XX Error Trend (CM and CD)
  3. Request Trend (All Web Apps)
  4. Average Response Time by Resource (App Service Plans)
  5. Average CPU Percentage by Resource (App Service Plans)
  6. Average Memory Percentage by Resource (App Service Plans)
  7. Average DTU Consumption Percentage by DB (SQL Server)
  8. Average CPU Consumption Percentage by DB (SQL Server)
  9. Cache Hits (Redis Cache)
  10. Used Memory Percentage (Redis Cache)

*Note that for customers with WAF implementation there are 4 extra metrics as stated below [1]:
WAF Metrics that are available as part of the template:

  11. Total Requests
  12. Healthy vs Unhealthy Hosts
  13. Failed Requests
  14. Application Gateway Total Time in Milliseconds

This dashboard provides one single view of utilization, performance, and availability details of key resources across the environment in time chart tiles for the past 7 days (default), so a customer can take appropriate action to improve their performance or availability of their implementation.

Sitecore can also deploy a dashboard with 30 days’ time range, if appropriate according to the customer’s request.
