Description

The Application Insights configuration was missing in Sitecore Experience Platform 10.4.0 packages for Azure App Service deployment, including the packages for the four topologies (XM Single, XM Scaled, XP Single, and XP Scaled) as well as the Sitecore Azure Toolkit Resources package.

On May 28, 2024, the Azure App Service packages were republished adding the missing Application Insights configuration and can be found here for download:

Note: The original package version numbers were not changed to avoid respinning the entire release.

Solution

To ensure that you use the correct versions of the packages, take the following steps:

1. To confirm that you have the correct Azure App Service packages, make sure that the following file is included in the ZIP package/packages inside the downloaded Sitecore 10.4.0 rev. 010422 (WDP xxx packages).zip:
   Sitecore 10.4.0 rev. 010422 (xx) (Cloud)_xxx.scwdp.zip\Content\Website\ApplicationInsights.config
2. To confirm that you have the correct Sitecore Azure Toolkit Resources 10.4.0 rev. 010422.zip package, make sure that the following file is included in the downloaded ZIP package:
   CargoPayloads\Sitecore.Cloud.ApplicationInsights.sccpl\CopyToWebsite\ApplicationInsights.config
