Microsoft has announced that Application Insights (Classic) will be retired on February 29, 2024: Azure Application Insights (Classic) is retiring on 29 Feb 2024. Application Insights (Classic) is superseded by workspace-based Application Insights. Once Application Insights (Classic) has been retired, the originally published Sitecore ARM Templates will not successfully complete the creation of a new deployment build.
Microsoft has announced that TLS versions older than TLS 1.2 will no longer be supported in Azure Resource Manager as of September 30, 2024: Migrating to TLS 1.2 for Azure Resource Manager. The originally published Sitecore ARM Templates for supported Sitecore XP releases did not specify a minimum TLS version, which would not prevent older TLS versions from being configured. This could result in being unable to connect to services like: Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL Database, Web App services, and Redis Cache services.
Due to Microsoft retiring classic Application Insights and enforcing the use of the TLS 1.2 version, solutions hosted in Azure Web Apps (including Sitecore Managed Cloud PaaS 1.0 and PaaS 2.0) must use the updated Sitecore Azure Resource Manager (ARM) Templates.
For Sitecore Experience Platform self-hosted Azure PaaS releases, the Sitecore ARM Templates are being updated and published to both:
For Sitecore-hosted Managed Cloud deployments, the newly requested deployments will use the updated ARM Templates.
