Description

When searching for and then selecting an item to be linked to in the General Link with Search field, the ItemLink property might be generated incorrectly, so that the language identifier is appended to the item ID, for example:

{Item_ID}/en

As a result, selecting the internal link fails with a pop-up warning "Select an item." The issue occurs when search results are arranged in List View.

Solution

To resolve the issue, upgrade your solution to Sitecore 10.4.0 or later.

To prevent the issue, consider one of the following options:

• Remove the appended language identifier manually in the ItemLink property field.
• Switch the view type for search results to Grid View before selecting an item to be linked to.
