Description

The following issues might occur in a multisite solution when accessing the Experience Editor from the Content Editor:

• Switching between the Shared and the Final Layouts does not work. The page always stays in the primary state after reloading.
• Adding components to the Shared Layout results in adding components to the Final Layout after saving changes.

Note: The issue affects XP 9.0.1 — XP 9.2 and 10.1.1 — 10.1.2.

Solution

To resolve this issue, consider one of the following options:

• Upgrade Sitecore XP instance to Sitecore XP 10.2.0 or later.
• Download and install the hotfix or the patch compatible with the affected product version:
  
  • For Sitecore XP 10.1, download and install pre-release as specified in KB1001300.
  • For Sitecore XP 9.1.1, download and install the corresponding cumulative hotfix available in KB1001330.
  • For Sitecore XP 9.1.0, download and install the corresponding cumulative hotfix available in KB1001328.
