Resources to identify and resolve Sitecore known issues


The following resources are available to discover information about Sitecore's known issues and available solutions.

Sitecore Knowledge Base

Sitecore publishes important and severe issues to Knowledge Base, including available solutions.

To find all known issues that can affect the specific Sitecore product version and assess available solutions, follow the guidance here.

To stay informed about the latest Sitecore Knowledge Base publications, the available subscription options are described at the following resources:

Sitecore Downloads / Release Notes

The product release notes, available at https://dev.sitecore.net, are distributed alongside the launch of every new Sitecore product version.

The release notes list features, improvements, and resolved issues that have been implemented within a release.

The release notes additionally use the public reference number to reference product issues that might have been previously communicated via Sitecore Support or other resources.

Sitecore Support Portal

If in the course of the support case investigation a product bug not previously resolved in a publicly available product release proves to be a root cause of the issue, track its status by an appropriate public reference number on the Sitecore Support Portal.

Reviewing My Product Issues page

The page provides a self-service functionality allowing to monitor the status of the reported issues, related to the raised support cases. More information about the My Product Issues page, and how to use it, is available here.

Checking status using a support case

If an original incident where a reference number has been provided by Sitecore Support after identifying a product issue has been closed, it is possible to check the status of the related issue by contacting Sitecore Support using the reference number in the question.

Private Hotfixes

Through the Sitecore Support Portal, Sitecore might provide hotfixes and to address specific project issues that are not made available through a published known issue on the Sitecore Knowledge Base, or yet included into a public release on the Sitecore Downloads site.

In a general case, Sitecore does not recommend applying such hotfixes to any additional environments except the ones communicated as part of the corresponding support case, given that such solutions might be applicable only to a specific configuration, incompatible with other applied solutions, or address a unique business scenario.

If a private hotfix needs to be applied to additional environments, it is recommended to contact Sitecore Support for assistance.

Pre-releases

Through the Sitecore Support Portal, Sitecore might provide the pre-releases of the next update to customers, if available. For more details, refer to Sitecore XP pre-releases.
