Description

When configuring an item's presentation details and selecting a rendering or sublayout datasource in the Search for the Associated Content dialog, the following issues may occur: 

• When several items are set as the datasource locations for a rendering or sublayout, only the first item would be used for searching.
• The datasource template parameter that was set on a rendering or sublayout may be ignored.

Solution

For Sitecore CMS 7.1 and later, apply the following patch to resolve the issue:

1. Download the following assembly file and place it in the /bin folder.
   • For Sitecore CMS 7.1: Sitecore.Support.428783.429935.v1.dll
   • For Sitecore CMS 7.2+: Sitecore.Support.428783.429935.v2.dll
2. Download the following configuration file and place it in the /App_Config/Include folder.
   • For Sitecore CMS 7.1: Sitecore.Support.428783.429935.v1.config
   • For Sitecore CMS 7.2+: Sitecore.Support.428783.429935.v2.config
3. Download the DataSourceResult.aspx file and replace the /sitecore/shell/Applications/Buckets/DataSourceResult.aspx file with it.
   
   • For Sitecore CMS 7.1: DataSourceResult.aspx
   • For Sitecore CMS 7.2+: DataSourceResult.aspx
