Description

The issue might occur when trying to execute a personalization rule with the condition "where the specific goal was triggered during a past or current interaction and when the number of elapsed days compares to number and when the past number of interactions compares to number". When you have achieved the goal, the rule always returns true, even if "the number of elapsed days compares to number" and "when the past number of interactions compares to number" are false.

For example:

• If a user creates a new goal, and sets the goal to trigger when visiting the Contact us page.
• Then creates a personalization rule based on the goal achieved, for example, to hide some content on the Home page.
• After the goal has been triggered, the rule returns true even if other conditions are false.
• As a result, it hides some content on the Home page that is not expected to be hidden if conditions are false.

Solution

To resolve the issue, consider one of the following options:

• Upgrade Sitecore XP instance to Sitecore XP 9.1.1 or later.
• For Sitecore XP 9.1.0, download and install the hotfix: SC Hotfix 304752-1 xDB.Tracking 12.0.0.zip
• For Sitecore XP 9.0.2 and earlier, download and install the patch compatible with the affected product version found on this page: https://github.com/SitecoreSupport/Sitecore.Support.129513/releases.
