This section describes the known issues associated with the Word Document Field and related functionality.
- In the Page Editor, if you enable inline editing for a Word field and click on a link in the Word field, the link may not work.
- In a Word field, some Word text boxes may not be displayed correctly after publication.
- A Word field may hide its Ribbon if you open another instance of Word on your computer and start writing in it.
- If you convert a Rich Text field to a Word field, the Download button for the field may not work correctly.
As a solution, edit the field and save the changes.
- In a Word field, if you insert a link into a text box, the link may not work.
- If you run Sitecore on the Visual Studio Web server (WebDev.WebServer) and don’t use "localhost" as the hostname, you may experience the following problems:
- When you try to edit a Word field, the Sitecore login page may appear or an error message may appear saying: "The given key was not present in the dictionary".
- In the Content Editor, when you open an item that contains a Word field, you may get an error message instead of the contents of the field.
- In the Page Editor, when you edit an item that contains a Word field, you may see an error saying: "The given key was not present in the dictionary". If you are using inline Word editing, you may see a blank IFrame and a JavaScript error.
As a solution, use "localhost" to access the site if you need to edit a Word field.
