High resource consumption by Reference Data database might degrade site performance


Description

Under high load, the Reference Data database might consume a lot of CPU resources. This might lead to slower responses from the Reference Data xConnect service, which as a result might affect the CD response time.

The issue is caused by non-optimal code of the GetDefinitions and SaveDefinitions stored procedures.

Solution

To fix the issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Back up the Reference Data database.
  2. Download and run the SQL script Sitecore.Support.312397.sql against Reference Data database to alter the relevant stored procedures.
