Description

When the Approve workflow action is executed on an item and its field values are not empty, the following message might appear in the Validation Results dialog:

This message appears if the Required workflow validation rule is set on some item fields.

Solution

To resolve the issue, consider one of the following options:

• Upgrade Sitecore XP instance to Sitecore XP 9.1.0 or later.
• Download and install the hotfix compatible with the affected product version:
  
  • For Sitecore XP 8.2.7: SC Hotfix-341365-1 CMS.Core 10.0.9.zip
  • For Sitecore XP 9.0.2: SC Hotfix 257120-3 CMS.Core 11.1.2 ContentSearch 3.1.2.zip

  Be aware that the hotfixes were built for a specific Sitecore XP versions, and must not be installed on other Sitecore XP versions or in combination with other hotfixes. In case any other hotfixes have already been installed on a certain Sitecore XP instance, send a request for a compatibility check to Sitecore Support.

  Note that the ZIP file contents must be extracted to locate installation instructions and related files inside. The hotfixes must be installed on a CM instance and then synced with other instances using standard development practices.

  Before applying the hotfix: make sure that your instance has the out-of-the-box versions of the assemblies included in a hotfix package.
