This article explains how to find the Sitecore License ID number.

The Sitecore License ID number can be useful when communicating to the Sitecore Support team or regional Sitecore offices.

Option 1 - Using Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge

• Locate your license.xml file.
  
  • By default, it is stored in the /Data (or /App_Data) folder of your Sitecore installation.
  • The location of the file can be configured using the LicenseFile setting in the Sitecore web.config file.
• Open the license.xml file in the Microsoft Edge browser.
• Click the three dots ("...") menu button and "Reload the page in Internet Explorer mode".
• Copy the value of the License ID field.
  
  

Option 2 - Using a text editor and the license.xml file

• Locate your license.xml file.
  
  • By default, it is stored in the /Data folder of your Sitecore installation.
  • The location of the file can be configured using the LicenseFile setting in the Sitecore web.config file.
• Open the license.xml file using Notepad or any other text editor.
• Find the signedlicense XML node.
• Copy the value of the "id" attribute of this node.
  

Option 3 - Using the login screen (Sitecore 8 and later)

1. Open the /Website/App_Config/Sitecore.config file.
2. Find the setting "Login.DisableLicenseInfo" and change its value to "false".
3. Open the Sitecore login screen by going to http://mysitecoresite/sitecore.
4. Click License options.
5. Copy the License ID value shown on the screen:
   

Option 4 - Using the login screen (Sitecore 7.5 and earlier)

1. Open the Sitecore login screen by going to http://mysitecoresite/sitecore.
2. In the top-right corner of the Sitecore login screen, copy the value of the License ID field.
