Description

This article describes different scenarios and ways to troubleshoot the most frequent issues with uploading media items. 

Note: Each of the following issues can occur alone or simultaneously with other issues. 

Issues With Displaying Media Items 

Possible scenarios:

• The Recently uploaded by me folder is empty. To resolve this issue, consider the steps described in the No items found in the Recently uploaded by me folder article.
• Media items are not shown in the list view. To fix this, apply the solution described in the The Select Media dialog box does not show unversioned media items in the list view article.
• The names of the last items are not displayed in the Select Media dialog box. To solve this, follow the instructions described in the Filenames of the last pictures are not displayed in the Select Media dialog box article.

Note: The first two issues are often found together, or in combination with other issues.

Issues With Language Versions

Possible scenarios:

• Only one language version is created when uploading an unversionable media item. To create several language versions, follow the steps described in the Creating language versions when uploading media files article.
• Cannot upload media items in the requested language. To upload media items in a non-default language, follow the steps described in the Media items uploaded using the Upload media dialog box are created in the default language only article.
• Media items are uploaded only in the current language of the site. To resolve this, consider the solution from the Unversionable media items are uploaded in the current site language, instead of the current item language article.

Upload File Dialog Issues

Possible scenario: The Upload file dialog box must be manually resized every time, if the SXA module has been installed.
Solution: To resolve this issue, follow the instructions given in the Upload File window is not correctly displayed after installing SXA article.

Hierarchical Inheritance Issues

Possible scenario: Media items are not added directly under the selected item.
