Credit Card Settlement Scenarios

Manual Settlement

With Manual Settlement, the original credit card transaction is simply an Authorization. If and when the order amount is changed, a new, second authorization is triggered. This can "reserve" approximately twice the funds from the buyer's source of credit. This situation often lasts for five business days and occasionally for as many as 30.

Auto-Settle

In contrast to Manual Settlement, Auto-Settle credits the entire order amount and a new charge is Authorized and Settled immediately when a Four51 order is edited. There are times when the full processing of the credit transaction lags behind the new settlement transaction.
