Create a Kit ProductCreating a Kit Product is similar to creating a Static or Variable Text product in many ways. There are only a few differences which will be highlighted in this article.
1. Log into your Administrative interface.
2. Click on the Products top navigation tab.
3. Click the "Create New Product" link in the left navigation bar to begin the Product wizard.
4. Enter a Product ID and Product Name and select "Kit" as the Product Type. This will make the Inventory options change.
a. Track Kit-Level Inventory: This option will allow you to set a value for the number of kits that is available and manually maintain the inventory.
b. Track Item-Level Inventory: This option will have the application calculate the available inventory based on the inventory available for each of the kit items.
5. After completing the Product Properties page, click the "Next" button.
6. The "Kit Items" page will now appear. This is where you add products to the kit. Search by the Product ID or Product Name and the auto-complete search functionality will return relevant results. Enter the Quantity of the product that will be included in the Kit and hit the Enter key or click the "Add" button.
a. The Quantity can be updated at any time.
b. Products can be added or removed at any time.
c. Variable Text products and products with Add to Order variable specs may be included and will require the Buyer to make selections when adding the kit to the cart.
d. Variants may be included.
7. Variable Specs, Static Specs and the Product Detail Spec Form work the same as a Static or Variable Text product. **Note for 2.0 sites** At this time, a buyer may only select from an existing variant when configuring a variable product in a kit. The ability to create a variant on the fly is on the roadmap.
8. Pricing can be configured to calculate the sum of the pricing for each of the kit items or a set price for the Kit can be entered. After selecting a price schedule, a new option appears below the Current Price Breaks box: Add to kit item total.
a. When the box is unchecked the price entered on this page will be the price that the Buyer User will pay.
b. When the box is checked the price entered on this page will be a surcharge or a discount to the sum of the price of the kit items.

9. Click the "Save" button and then the "Back to Pricing" link to return to the product wizard.
10. Category and Buyer assignment works the same as a Static or Variable Text product.
11. The Inventory page will look different based on the configuration option selected on the Product Properties page.
a. If "Kit-Level" inventory was selected, you will have a box to enter the Inventory on this page.
b. If "Item-Level" inventory was selected, a quantity available will be calculated by the application and will be display only on this page.
c. If both were selected, the above information will appear but the Quantity Available will be the lesser of the two values.
In this example, Item-Level inventory is selected:
12. Supplier assignment works the same as a Static or Variable Text product.
