Understanding Four51 Custom Themes
A different theme can be applied to each of your Buyer interfaces. Buyer themes incorporate a template html file, special tokens for specific user interface elements, stylesheets to control appearance of user interface elements and supporting images. While the template html file controls the general look and feel of every Buyer interface page, there are page-specific customization options.
Admin and Supplier interface themes involve a template html file, a stylesheet and supporting images to control appearance of user interface elements. However, the template html file is optional.
Setting Up the Service
To gain access to custom themes, your administrative user must be enabled with sufficient permissions. Contact your system administrator to have the appropriate permissions assigned.
Theme administration is found under the "Admin" top navigation tab of your Administrative interface:
- Log into your Administrative interface.
- Click the "Admin" top navigation tab.
- Click the "Themes" link in the left navigation bar.
Theme administration allows you to:
- Create a New Theme: Creating a new theme will make it available for you to assign it to your buyers. The new theme will appear in the grid, the default buyer dropdown, the dropdown on the Assign Theme to Buyers page and on the dropdown on the Edit Company Information page. A folder with this theme name will also be created on the FTP site so that you can manage theme files. Default theme files will be copied to this folder, ready to be overwritten or updated.
- Manage Theme Files: Here you can connect to the FTP server to manage your theme files via an FTP client.
- Set Default Theme For New Buyers: The dropdown list is comprised of all Four51 shared themes and any themes you have created. Setting this value will automatically associate a theme with any new buyer companies you create.
- Delete Themes.
- Rename Themes: Click a theme in the theme grid and enter a new name for the theme.
Themes can be assigned to buyers on the Assign Theme To Buyers page. All administrative users have access to this page. No special permissions are required to access this page.
- Log into your Admin interface.
- Click the "Admin" top navigation tab.
- Click the "Assign Theme To Buyers" link in the left navigation bar.
- Select a theme from the dropdown and check the box next to each buyer company to which you want to assign the theme.
- Click the “Save” button.
Page-specific theme customization is administered under the Buyers top navigation tab.
- Log into your Admin interface.
- Click the "Buyers" top navigation tab.
- Select a buyer company from the list.
- Text replacement configurations can be made on the Site Customization page, accessed from the left navigation bar.
- Page-specific HTML and CSS configurations can be made at the Category List Page, Product List Page and Product Detail Page, found on the left navigation bar.
You can test a theme without applying it to a buyer site by logging in as any buyer company and appending “?theme=yourcompanyfolder/themename” to the url. For example,http://www.four51.com/ui/customer.aspx?theme=a48e153d-ea81-4624-b15e-4e5cf16b41c7/four51_combo_aquamarine.
Administrative and Supplier interface themes can be assigned to your company by Four51 only. When you are ready to have a theme assigned, please notify Four51.
