Bookmark or Share URLs

Use of bookmarks and distributed urls to specific buying sites, categories and products are supported on the Four51 application. With the appropriate application configuration, buyer users may copy a url for a product or category and save it as a bookmark or share it with someone by sending it as a link in a communication such as an email or instant message.

Setup Instructions

1. A Default Bookmark User must be set on the Edit Company Information page for each buyer company. This user defines how the application works when someone who is not profiled clicks on the link. The functionality works the same as an anonymous user as it requires users to identify themselves prior to ordering.

2. All products and categories within your administrative interface must have unique Interop IDs.

Notes

1. If a link contains a product or category that does not have a unique Interop ID, the user will be taken to the closest level that does. For example, if a valid category Interop ID exists but the product does not have a valid Interop ID, the user will be taken to the category page. If no valid category or product interop id exists, but the Default Bookmark User has been set, the user will be taken to the home page.
2. ​If no Default Bookmark User is set and a url is copied and shared, the person clicking on the link will be taken to the Four51 logon page and will see the following error: "The link you clicked cannot be processed: A configuration error has occurred."
3. A user cannot be deleted while they are assigned as the Default Bookmark User, another user must first be designated as the new Default Bookmark User.
